Day 1: No Turning Back

Well, that's Day 1 finished...
...and what a way to kick things off!
We started our journey at Land's End - a peaceful, picturesque, and perfect setting for the boys to lace up their boots and soak in the view before the miles began. The boys set off full of energy, winding their way around the stunning South West Coast to our first aid station at Penberth Cove.
Safe to say the views were absolutely breathtaking, but after a well-earned refuel, they powered on through to Lamorna Cove, where we were greeted by a very surprising guest! A film crew...!! (Unfortunately, not for us...). That being said, they were very impressed by our bright green t-shirts - I mean, if we're going to do an event, we might as well do it in style, right?! After watching the film crew shoot their advert, the boys marched on for the finish line - I feel like we should say ACTION?!
After what seemed like a very long (but finished very quickly) Day 1, we ended at Penzance - right along the seafront. With only half a blister in sight, safe to say the boys were very happy to see the car to come home!
We're now eating, resting and recuperating ready for Day 2, but that isn't without a quick reflection of how the day went. The boys highlights from today were:
Seeing Llamas, Donkeys and (not real) dolphins
Seeing the 'Cranbrook Church' flag coming over the brough of the hill to the aid station
Attempting to climb over some boulders to take the shorter route before deciding to give up and just walk round them!
Why not look at some of our photos and videos from Day 1: Land's End to Penzance. 16 Miles, 980m of ascent, 1,024m of descent, and approximately 41,734 steps.

Such a brilliant read! Well done Team Cranbrook. We walked tonight as our house group - only 3 miles and we raised a glass or two to you xxxxx
