Day 2: Sun, Sea and Sore Knees

And just like that, Day 2 is done! With it comes a few more aches and pains but more importantly, lots more moments to be thankful for!
This morning started in Penzance with cooler conditions that came as a welcome relief after the heat of Day 1. The scenery continued to impress from early on with views of Cornwall’s dramatic coastline and St. Michael’s Mount... but not before the graffitied concrete wall Google Maps termed the ‘Penzance Coastal Path Viewpoint’ stopped one of our shorter walkers - not mentioning any names! - from seeing much of anything!
The boys remained in high spirits throughout the day, helped along by strangers’ curiosity at the bright green t-shirts! Towards the end of the day’s walk, when knees were becoming sore and energy quickly diminishing, one very generous lady caught sight of the three men in green and sent them on their way with bananas, choc-ices and our first en route donation.
The remaining water from the aid station refill bottles made for a makeshift shower to cool the boys before the drive home… a much more refreshing shower than the one Ailie received from pup, Beau, earlier in the day!
We’ve enjoyed a BBQ with Lydia’s parents, our very generous hosts for the week, and reflect with thanks for the lack of blisters(!!!), the interactions with fellow walkers along the path and for this opportunity to enjoy some beautiful scenes and weather!
Huge thanks to Richard who has joined us for the first two days and is preparing to head back home in the morning, for his encouragement, support, prayer and willingness!
And on to Day 3! But first, take a look at some of the snaps from Day 2: Penzance to Porthleven. 15.5 miles, 44,236 steps!

Well done folks we did another walk to cheer you on over Dartmoor yesterday. Following you all the way!
