Day 6: Tired, Hot and a Little Bit Bothered

What a way to cross the 1/3 of the way mark! Day 6 of 18 is over and, honestly, I wouldn't be entirely convinced if any member of the team said they were gutted to see it go!
Although today was a challenging day, the heat sapping energy and the elevation proving difficult for the joints and feet, a highlight of my day is when we get to sit together in the evening and reminisce over the day's best bits...
Jon and Jac again witnessed some stunning views today, walking through some pretty villages (that they would only recommend driving to!), and what better way to enjoy these precious views than to the sound of temporary traffic light operators discussing how best to manage traffic flow and protect the public?! Quite often on this trip we have shared our radio channel with random snippets of conversation but none as entertaining or as lengthy as this one for Jac and Jon.
An impromptu aid station was implemented today to break up a difficult leg of the journey and to support the boys through the heat. Veryan ROC Post, overlooking Gull Rock, provided the perfect pitstop to top up water and fuel following a steep climb. Both sides of the team were grateful to see fluorescent green t-shirts heading towards them along the cliff top.
Ailie and I find ourselves in complete admiration of how well the boys are handling this challenge. We are so proud of them and its such a privilege to be able to do this journey with them in some way.
Prayers for Jon and Jac, particularly for their physical and mental health as they undertake this whopping challenge, are greatly appreciated. Jon and Jac are headed towards a further 3 days of difficult routes and we also move lodgings tomorrow which adds a certain logistical challenge. We are so grateful to have had some very generous offers of support from complete strangers along the way and we look forward to connecting with them and sharing a snippet of our time in Cornwall with them. On the note of prayer... remember you can join for a short prayer session of on the church land at 12 midday tomorrow!
As always, please keep the support coming and share the donation link far and wide: www.cranbrookchurch.org/jon

You guys are doing so so well, and we are all praying for you and with you in spirit xxxx
